IMPPB is an open intellectual platform grounding research discourse and graduate-level study in a shared ontological architecture — a geometry of knowledge that positions every question, discipline, and method in relation to every other.
The Institute of Metacognitive Physics & Philosophical Biomedicine was founded on a single observation: the most consequential questions in science and philosophy — consciousness, life, the structure of physical law — require a vocabulary that no single discipline currently provides.
IMPPB builds that vocabulary through two complementary activities. The forum hosts original research, paper discussion, and open questions across six ontological sectors. The course platform situates formal graduate preparation — subject GRE exams and beyond — within the same map, so that preparation and genuine inquiry are not separate endeavours.
The platform is an initiative of Wellthspan, a Maryland nonprofit corporation focused on wisdom research and cognitive training. It operates as an open intellectual project — early access, honest about its stage of development, and actively seeking collaborators.
Every forum and every course topic occupies a specific position in the wheel — a sector (the domain of inquiry) and a tier (the depth of engagement, from broad Primary foundations to integrative Tertiary synthesis). The geometry is not ornamental. It is the argument.
IMPPB is in early access. The forum architecture is complete; the research community is forming; the first course materials are in development. If any part of this resonates — whether you are a researcher, a graduate student, a developer, or someone who has felt the gap between serious intellectual formation and the formal requirements of institutions — there is a role here.
